There With You (Adair Family #2) by Samantha Young

For Regan Penhaligon, there’s no better place to run to than the exclusive Ardnoch Estate in the remote Scottish Highlands. Her impulsive behavior has finally caught up with her and Regan’s visit with her sister, Robyn, is an opportunity to hide from someone who has grown dangerously obsessed with her.

Determined to make amends for her mistakes, Regan plans to repair her relationship with Robyn by staying close. And when an offer of help comes from Thane Adair, Regan gratefully accepts.

Widower, Thane, needs a new nanny housekeeper for his two young children and when they bond with Regan Penhaligon, he offers her the job. But as the weeks pass and the complex American reveals who she really is, Thane struggles with his growing attraction to her.

Regan never expected to feel so intensely for Thane, but she can’t deny her passion for him or her love for his children. When someone from Thane’s past threatens his family, Regan wants to be his pillar of support. However, his continued inability to trust her might just destroy their chance at future happiness… and the person who drove Regan to Ardnoch might snuff out her chance for any future at all.

I was so excited for this book - like couldn't wait to have it in my hands excited.
I did worry that it couldn't possibly be as good as the first book in there series, Here With Me.
Here With Me is hands down one of my fav books of the year so far it gripped me from the beginning, loved the characters, the plot - a romantic suspense and the gorgeous setting. I was worried the second books couldn't match it.  Also in Here With Me, Regan's character is set up, it didn't seem that I was going to like her- but her actions are explained in her story and I loved her. She was such fun but had a heart of gold.  She tries to hide when she's hurt and put on a brace face but she feels deeply.
Now - I love me a forbidden romance, and especially a bit of an age gap romance and I got both with this one! Regan is going to marry Thane's brother and she's a good few years younger than him - but he needs a nanny for his two kids and accepts the help, but the attraction between is instant! Like smoking. No one writes attraction like Samantha Young - I was rooting for these characters from the get go.
I could understand Thane's reluctance due to being burnt before and thinking of his kids, but sometimes I wanted to shake him.
And the kids - they were such fun to read, and little scene stealers!
Overall my worries for this book were completely unfounded.  I was hooked from the get go and couldn't put it down.  I resented every single interruption to my devouring this book.
I would recommend picking up the first book in the series first and events from the first book are mentioned throughout and it will help understand a lot of the dynamics with the characters.
This has become a favourite series of mine and I cannot wait to see more characters get their stories!
Can't recommend enough! 5/5 stars.
