Waiting On Wednesday: IMPOSSIBLE MUSIC

Waiting on Wednesday is all about sharing the books that I'm eagerly waiting to be released.
This week the book that I'm waiting to be released is Impossible Music by Sean Williams.  I really enjoyed Tillie Cole's 'A Wish For Us' which was a novel set around music, and I've been looking out for something similar and this sounds like it potentially could be.
Released 2nd July.
40796201In an emotionally compelling tale crackling with originality, when a teen musician goes deaf, his quest to create an entirely new form of music brings him to a deeper understanding of his relationship to the hearing world, of himself, and of the girl he meets along the way.

Music is Simon’s life—which is why he is devastated when a stroke destroys his hearing. He resists attempts to help him adjust to his new state, refusing to be counseled, refusing to learn sign-language, refusing to have anything to do with Deaf culture. Refusing, that is, until he meets G, a tough-as-nails girl dealing with her own newly-experienced deafness.

In an emotionally engaging tale crackling with originality, Simon's quest to create an entirely new form of music forces him into a deeper understanding of his relationship to the hearing world, of himself, and of the girl he meets along the way.

Waiting On Wednesday: There Goes My Heart

Waiting on Wednesday is all about sharing the books that I'm eagerly waiting to be released.
This week the book I'm waiting to be released is There Goes My Heart by Bella Andre, book 2 in her Main Sullivans series.  I love Bella Andre's Sullivans series as a whole and always look forward to the next book.
Released 19th June.
Rory Sullivan, a renowned artisan woodworker, has no plans to fall in love anytime soon. Especially not with Zara Mirren, who shares a converted warehouse space with him in Bar Harbor, Maine. While she is a brilliant maker—the eyeglass frames she designs are practically works of art—everything else about her drives him bonkers. The way she’s always whistling cheesy pop songs off-key. The way her half-drunk cups of coffee litter every available countertop. And especially the way he can’t take his eyes off her whenever she enters a room…or stop thinking about her after she leaves.
Zara loves everything about her career—designing and manufacturing bright, fun glasses frames fulfills both the creative and technical sides of her brain. The only downside to coming to work is bumping into irritating, far-too-handsome-for-his-own-good Rory Sullivan…even if she secretly enjoys the zingers they throw at each other. On the plus side, thinking up new ways to torment Rory on a daily basis has helped Zara stop dwelling on the fact that her ex-boyfriend cheated on her with her stepsister.
But when Zara learns that her ex and her stepsister have just become engaged, she’s doubly stunned by Rory’s suggestion to go as her pretend boyfriend to their engagement party, in a one-night truce where they’ll be a team rather than adversaries. Only, when it turns out that the sparks between them disguise a deeper passion—and bigger emotional connection—than either has ever known, will both Rory and Zara end up losing their hearts to the last person they could have imagined?

Savaged by Mia Sheridan

45714792When wilderness guide, Harper Ward, is summoned to the small town sheriff’s office in Helena Springs, Montana, to provide assistance on a case, she is shocked to find that their only suspect in the double murder investigation is a man described as a savage.

But the longer she watches the man known only as Lucas, on the station surveillance camera, the more intrigued she becomes. He certainly looks primitive with his unkempt appearance and animal skin attire, but she also sees intelligence in his eyes, sensitivity in his expression. Who is he? And how is it possible that he’s lived alone in the forest since he was a small child?

As secrets begin to emerge, Harper is thrust into something bigger and more diabolical than she ever could have imagined. And standing right at the center of it all, is Lucas. But is he truly the wild man he appears to be? A cold blooded killer? An innocent victim? Or a perplexing mix of all three?

Harper must find out the answers to these questions because the more time she spends with him, the more she risks losing her heart.

Cover:  I like how simple this cover is, and yet still manages to be beautiful.

I've read a few Mia Sheridan books at this point, and while I've enjoyed all of them, I've enjoyed some more than others, and my absolute favourite has been Archer's Voice- one of my favourite novels of all time.
When I read the synopsis for Savaged on Goodreads, I knew I had to read it.  And I'm so glad that I did.  It was such an interesting premise, and the overall plot and surprises were really well done.
The romance element was something I really enjoyed- and seeing the path that brought these two characters together was hauntingly beautiful.
4/5 stars,

Waiting On Wednesday "Storm and Fury

Waiting on Wednesday is all about sharing the books that I'm eagerly waiting to be released.

This week the book that I'm waiting to be released is Storm and Fury, book 1 in a new series by Jennifer L Armentrout.  I'm a big Jennifer L. Armentrout fans- loving both her YA, NA and adult books.  I'm especially a fan of her Lux series, so anything that sounds remotely like that I'm up for reading.
