Port Fare #2
Lilah Lopez Dreser's in town to take care of unfinished family business. They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree ... or does it? Is there more to this Dreser than meets the eye? Is Cole in mortal danger when this firestorm throws sparks his way? This time around it may be a Dreser causing an uproar in Port Fare. It just may be Cole's best friend Booker. But is he wrong? Usually not!
Cover: Another stunning cover for this series. Love it.
After reading Unlovable last year, it instantly became a new favourite, so I have been eagerly anticipating book 2 ever since.
Where book one focused on Maggie and Seth, Unbelievable is Lilah and Cole's story. And I was not disappointed.
At first I was unsure that I could love a couple as much as Maggie and Seth, but I did! I loved that as characters they were so different, and yet they really did seem to go together, balanced each other out. Lilah being a flamboyant character, and Cole being slightly more steady (although not on his feet!) they gave each other what the other was missing and it was beautiful.
Ah Cole...adorable, hunky, klutzy ER doctor...need I say more? No. Exactly. Love that dude.
I really felt for Lilah- she's being forced by her drug-dealer father to gather information, but she starts to make friends and really falls for Cole (I mean, who wouldn't?!) so she finds herself in an impossible situation.
Just as in book 1 Sherry Gammon really hooked me in, I couldn't put it down. For 24 hours my life consisted of nothing but this book. The twists and surprises kept me on the edge of my seat with this one.
I was so pleased that we still got to see the characters that I loved so much in book 1, and I can't wait for Booker's story...I have a few theories going and I can't wait to see if I'm right or not ^_^
A fabulous continuation of the series, that is right up there with my favourite contemporaries! 5/5 stars!

ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry! Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of the tour! I found it hard to write my review on Unbelievable, because it's a series I love so much that it's hard to put into words.
