BLURB REVEAL: DARKNESS EMBRACED BY TILLIE COLE

“There was him, Tanner Ayers, the White Prince of the Ku Klux Klan. And me, Adelita Quintana, Princesa of the Quintana Cartel. I hated him. He hated me… things only got complicated when that hatred turned into more… when that hatred turned into love.”
THE DEEPEST LOVE CAN BE BORN FROM THE FIERCEST HATE…

Born to sit on opposing thrones.
They were never meant to fall.

Tanner Ayers is the heir of the Texas Ku Klux Klan. Fed nothing but hate, violence, and intolerance from the day he was born, Tanner kills for his cause without remorse.
Until he meets Adelita Quintana, the daughter of the most brutal cartel boss in Mexico.
Adelita and Tanner hate each other instantly. But there is something between them that neither can explain or deny. Hate turns to desire, desire turns to love, and for the first time Tanner sees how wrong his whole life has been.
For years, Tanner does everything he can to find a way for him and Adelita. He walks away from the Klan, his family, everything he ever believed, and joins the Hades Hangmen. But now the Hangmen are at war—not only with his own family, but with Adelita’s too.
When Adelita and Tanner are thrown together again, they are forced to fight for a love that should never have been. For a love that puts them and everyone they have ever loved in danger.
The White Prince.
The cartel princess.
And a future that seems shrouded in darkness…

Waiting On Wednesday: Love With Me (With Me In Seattle #11) by Kristen Proby

Waiting on Wednesday is all about sharing the books that I'm eagerly waiting to be released.

This week the book I'm waiting to be released is Love With Me by Kristen Porby, #11 in her With Me In Seattle series.  I'm a big fan of Kristen Proby and in particular this series, so I can't wait for this to hit my kindle.
Released 27th November.
41188257Best friends from college. Plus-ones since med school. A chance for something new...

Jace Crawford heals hearts for a living. More than that, medicine is his life. To become the leading cardiothoracic surgeon on the west coast, he’s made sacrifices. No social life. He barely has time to sleep. Love? Forget about it. But when everything goes horribly wrong on his table, and he unexpectedly loses a patient, Jace is suspended from work.

When a man has nothing but his job, what does he do when that’s gone?

Joy Thompson collects unwanted strays. A dog with one eye, a three-legged cat, a bird that swears like a sailor? All part and parcel of her veterinary business. It helps pass the time.
Until Jace calls out of the blue to ask her out on a real date. Spending extra time with him is dangerous. Her feelings for her best friend have always been stronger than simple companionship. If she gets attached, what happens when he goes back to work and leaves her behind?
But as the weeks progress, falling for each other is inevitable. This time, Jace’s heart is the one that will need fixing before both of them end up broken.

Splendid by Julia Quinn

Splendid (The Splendid Trilogy, #1)Cover: I like this particular cover a lot.  I love the purple flowers!  AAnd I like that it’s kind of a traditional looking mass market paperback cover- without a steamy scene on the front.

I’ve read a few Julia Quinn novels, but not many.  I decided to pick this one up on a bit of a whim, I and I didn’t realise at first that it was her first novel.
I really enjoyed it! Reading it in just under two days.
Emma is a fiery heroine, and Alex is an arrogant bachelor.  Neither one of them is prepared to fall in love, particularly with each other.
It’s definitely made me want to read more Julia Quinn novels in the near future.
4/5 stars.

For The Duke's Eyes Only (School For Dukes #2) by Lenora Bell

39989316If adventure has a name . . . it must be Lady India Rochester. The intrepid archaeologist possesses a sharp blade and an even sharper knack for uncovering history's forgotten women. Unfortunately, she has one annoying weakness: the dangerously handsome Duke of Ravenwood. Former best friend. Current enemy. And the man who dared to break her heart.

Daniel Bonds, the Duke of Ravenwood, is a thrill-seeking antiquities hunter who only plays by one rule: Never fall in love. He's in it for the fortune and glory. At least that's what he wants the world to think. He's sworn to hide his tangled web of secrets, especially from the one woman he cares about and will protect at any cost.
But when a priceless relic is stolen from the British Museum, the rivals must align forces. Racing to recover the stolen antiquity and avert an international disaster? All in a day's work. Avoiding their buried feelings? More and more impossible. For love is about to become the greatest treasure of all.
The grand adventure begins...now!

Cover:  Fairly standard historical romance cover.  I like that it’s quite simple.  I do like the old fashioned, cheesy, bodice ripping covers, but sometimes it’s nice to have a nice, simple cover that is reading in public friendly.

I read the first book in this series, What a Difference a Duke Makes, earlier this year and fell in love with it!  It quickly became one of my all time favourite historical romances, and I couldn’t wait for the next instalment.
India is a delightfully different kind of romance novel heroine- she’s brave, smart and intrepid.  She’s an archaeologist, she loves to unravel the mysteries of the past and donates her discoveries to museums for everyone to enjoy and learn.  She’s fiercely independent and often wears breeches!
Daniel, Duke of Ravenwood is her sworn enemy.  They provoke each other at every turn.  He portrays himself as a rake, out for himself, and selling any archaeological finds for his own gain.
Plus, he broke India’s heart.
I really loved the historical references to ancient Egypt- Cleopatra’s tomb and the Rosetta stone to name two.
I loved how much Daniel loved India but he has his reasons for staying clear of her, and hurting her.  He desperately wanted to see and be near her, but he also wants to protect her.  Of course India doesn’t make that easy for him.
I definitely thought these two characters were a good match for each other, and I’m really looking for to the next book in this series.  Lenora Bell has definitely become one of my go-to historical romance authors.
4.5/5 stars.
