Booking Through Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by Booking Through Thursday and a different question is posted every week.
And, the reverse–which actors have been particularly badly cast in roles of characters you first met in the pages of a book? Do you blame the actors or the writers and other film-people for the failure? Who would you have cast instead?
When I first read this question I didn't think I had an answer, but I pondered it for a while and came up with a couple.
Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice. No. Just. No.
Then in the movie adaptation of The Lucky one by Nicholas Sparks. I felt that the couple looked wrong, they either needed a woman that looked slightly younger to match Zac Efron, or cast an older guy.

I agree with you on Kiera Knightly - Jennifer Ehle is more my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteJennifer Ehle was a much better Elizabeth.
DeleteGood answer.

As much as I love Kiera, I wasn't sold on her either. And I totally agree about Zac. I am not a big Sparks fan but he just didn't seem to fit the bill.
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one!
DeleteI love Kiera but she was a misfit in that role..
