Any books or authors you hate? Why? Is it the writing? The stories? The author’s personality? And—would you read their work anyway?
This is a tough question.
I would never say I hate an author- I don't know them so hate is such a strong word and I don't think it fair to say that.
It's rare for me to 'hate' a book. It might not be for me, but I try to find a positive, and it's also rare for me to say to someone or to my blog readers 'Don't read this it's terrible' as just because it's not for me, doesn't mean it won't be amazing for someone else.
But, of course there have been some books I've really disliked.
Either the writing is pretentious, or the characters are weak, or there's numerous pet peeves- such as weak heroines, cheating, love triangles, etc, etc.
It definitely makes me think twice about reading a book by that author again, and I would say in a review why it wasn't for me.
But I might try a book by them again in the future.
There are definitely authors I don't care to read, but I don't know that I "hate" any of them!
