Booking Through Thursday 16/01/14

Booking Through Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by Booking Through Thursday and a different question is posted every week.

All other things (writing quality, story, etc), which would you rather read?

This is a tough one because for me at least, there isn't really a straight answer, so here goes.

1. Something written by a man or a woman?

I won't pick up something to read just because it's written by a man or a woman, I have no preference.  But just as the way it falls, with the genres I read, the majority of them I read ARE written by women.  For example paranormal romance and New Adult novels.  But then I also love John Green.  It's a mix.

2. Something with a male or female protagonist?

Again, my favourite is a mix.  I tend to read a lot of romance, so I like to have both the guy's and girl's point of view. For example Pushing the Limits or Perfect Chemistry.

3. Something funny or something tragic?

I don't tend to like books that make me depressed or really bring me down.  So I would sway twoards something light hearted and funny.

4. Something short or something long with many parts?

While I don't mind long books per say, but with work, etc I sway towards average-to-short books because of blogging and vlogging I want to make sure I have content to post, so I don't always want to get hung up on a particularly large book.

5. Something simple or something layered?

Again this is a 'depends-what-I-feel-like reading' one.  Sometimes I really fancy the layers and intricacy of a fantasy novel such as Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes, sometimes I really want to reading something simple that I don't have to think too much about, such as Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines.

  1. I am a reader of average sized books, I read for fun and entertainment, so don't read many layered books.

  2. today's prompt was tricky. and then, we answer that it's mixed, can't really divided as clearly on one side because we've been entertained with variative conditions and experiences of reading, right?

  3. It depends on the time, our mood and many other factors. I liked your answers.

  6. I wasn't to thrilled with today's Booking through Thursday's questions, being that each question will get the same answer pretty much. It all depends on how I'm feeling. RIght?!?! LOL Hopefully I'll be joining in on next weeks meme! Love your post though :) Happy Reading xoxo
