“Conner and his friends returned to Dead Man’s Creek much
sooner than any of them would have liked.
He and Jack rummaged through piles of destroyed witches’ Brew while Red
and Goldilocks searched the woods hearby, Porridge and her son, Oats (who was
nearly the size of his mother now), helped Conner and Jack by kicking over the
larger pieces of the wrecked tavern.
“I only see sticks” Jack said. “Are we looking for anything in particular?”
“Anything” Conner said desperately.”
